The Ongoing War in Iran and the Rise of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement
The ongoing war in Iran has highlighted a significant flaw in the architecture of security in the Near and Middle East: the absence of an inclusive regional security mechanism. The recent emergence of military coalitions, such as the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, underscores this gap. Traditional bilateral mediation efforts have become exhausted, revealing their limited utility in addressing the complex security challenges faced by the region. As tensions escalate and conflicts persist, it is increasingly clear that a more collaborative and comprehensive approach to regional security is necessary. Without an inclusive framework that brings together diverse stakeholders, the potential for sustained peace and stability in the Middle East remains elusive.
Promoting Peace in the Near Middle East
In an effort to promote peace in the Near Middle East, we reached out to the state of Qatar to host the secretariat for our proposed new permanent pact for peace and security in the region, with a focus on economic integration. By establishing this secretariat in Qatar, we aim to create a central hub for dialogue and cooperation among the nations of the region, including Iran, Israel and Yemen. This initiative seeks to foster collaboration, build trust, and enhance stability through shared economic goals and mutual security interests. We believe that a united approach will not only address current conflicts but also pave the way for sustainable development and prosperity for all involved. Together, we can work towards a peaceful future that benefits the entire region
